Rates Expected To Drop
October

FEDERAL RESERVE EXPECTED
TO LOWER RATE BY ONE-QUARTER PERCENT
1. Existing home sales dropped
sharply by 8.0 percent in September.
2. Decline in durable goods
orders in September by 1.7 percent
3. University of Michigan
consumer sentiment index dropped in
October to 80.9
4. Fewer households owned homes
in third quarter, fell to 68.1 percent.
Recent reports supported the view that
economic growth in the current quarter
should slow
considerably from an expected third
quarter’s pace of over 3 percent.
The Federal Open
Market Committee (FOMC) meets Wednesday
October 31.
